Well, just to chip in, there were a few private mails between myself
and Gary.  I always found him quick witted, friendly and extremely
well informed.  Any messages from him were always very welcome.  I
knew nothing of his life-style .... I didn't need to since it was
irrelevant to the subjects of our discussion.  I was doubly shocked to
learn that mindless prejudice should cause such a tragedy.  I loathe
bigotry and prejudice, whether it biased against racial, religious or
life-style choices.  That it should end such a promising life is
despicable in the extreme.  

There can be only one intolerance that is justified ... and that is
intolerance of intolerance.
