Re: Gary Matson memorial


I think the greatest thing we can do is just what we are doing now -
speaking out about the loss of these men to hatred.  I hope that Gary's
computer is still receiving messages from the list and that his family
will be able to read about the respect for him and the caring and
concern we are expressing - I'm sure that the families of both men would
be heartened that in the world of horticulture this kind of hatred is
not tolerated.

I said in an earlier message on the subject that, in my experience,
gardeners are good people.  That the two accused men were involved in
horticulture is a sad reflection on that statement.  It would seem that
their twisted minds gave them a ruthless and unreal attitude to their
fellow men, eliminating people they so wrongly considered "weeds" of
society  - when in fact, they pulled out of society, not weeds, but two
prize plants.
