To reply breefly to Paul Harrar, i will just say that i, as a gardener and
a gay will remember that the gay pride movement originated in the US and
here in France we celebrated that pride day last saturday, thinking of all
the people who have been assaulted, and more because of their skin, faith or
sexual orientation. let me add that the amount of mail after these last two
horrid murders is a proof that we must go on dreaming of a tolerant world.
Paul Harrar quoted Voltaire who also wrote in Candide: 'let us cultivate our
garden'.This is not being selfish; all of us know that taking care of plants
is not so far from taking care of our fellow sisters and brothers and that
when we 'neglect' our plants, we are surely neglecting both ourselves and
the others.
Who know what was Gary's favorite plant? i would plant it here in Nice in
his memory and that of his companion.
