The following from "Sunset Western Garden" book
Anigozanthos, Kangaroo Paw, haemodoraceae
Evergreen perennials Zones 12, 13, 15, 24 (Sunset zones)
Full sun, Regular water during flowering. (Mine get regular water year
round, because of the plants they're with)
Native to open eucalyptus forests in western
Australia. From thick rootstocks grow clumps of dark green, smooth,
swordlike ....Blooms from late spring to fall if spent flowering spikes are
cut to ground. Light sandy soil or heavier soil with good drainage
The earth is the LORD'S and the fulness thereof
