I just got the new (fall, 1999) issue of Pacific Horticulture, a quarterly
journal that is so perfect for the members of this list, it couldn't be more
appropriate if it had been custom ordered. There's an information page about
the magazine on the Medit Plants site at
http://www.support.net/Medit-Plants/inprint/PacHort.html, but I want to add my
enthusiastic recommendation. This issue has articles (with lots of color
photography) about Solomon's seals, Correas, cloud forest daisies, Toledo (and
I don't mean Ohio), four new Heuchera, and other articles on gardening in the
Mediterranean climate. The articles are beautifully written by people who are
plant obsessed. It's $20 a year in the US and $25 overseas. Such a deal.
