Hi Bette
Probably same as S reginae:-

Soak 30 mins before sowing.  Sowing temp 21-24 C Transplant as soon as
germination occurs.(Not quite sure why, probably they exude some
inhibiting chemical into the sowing medium).

However, I wonder if you are aware what you are getting into. Unless you
perhaps live near Torquay you will need to house this in a greenhouse
and it can grow up to 20ft high with a spread of 12 feet. Not for
nothing is it known as the Giant Strelitzia or Wild Banana. 

I should be inclined to leave it to somewhere like Kew to give it a
home!!
