Barbara, I've "thinned" mine out by cutting some of the branches out down to
the bottom as in this area they sometimes get a mold on them if the air cant
get through the bush. Then other branches have grown back from what's left
down there. I do dead head and leave none of the single stem sticking out so
they keep on flowering from the little side branches left below the stem and
looking great.
