I can relate this summer. My summer project has been installing a
watering system of varying degrees (sprinklers, drips and bubblers) to
six separate zones in the back yard and two in the front yard. The
entire yard has been water by a very long hoses since there's only one
outside faucet for the entire yard. I sort of love the mindless hand
watering which can take a couple of hours, but when I go on travel my
wife gets a little perturbed taking care of my eden. After this
irrigation system is in then maybe I'll consider my garden low
maintenance.

As for my back, I'm one of those gardeners who moves about on all
fours throughout the year. It's harder on the knees than it is on the
back. I should purchase some knee pads and save the wear and tear on
my blue jeans.
