I have some clivia planted, in Berkeley, in a dry shady area. This part of
my garden is also hit by strong sun during the later part of the day. As a
result it's even more problematic than dry shade ususally is. One of my
clivias bloomed once but not last year. There are three plants and baby
ones are coming up around them. There's some leaf burn on one of them.
I've also tried a helleborus in this area but the sun burned its leaves in
the summer.
All of my shaded areas are subject to a hit of sun which seems to offend
much of what I plant there. My raspberries, though, are doing all too well,
having crept into both the shade and sunny parts of my garden.
Any suggestions? I want to water as little as possible, of course.
