plants to cover a wall

I'm looking for plants, for my daughter in Portland, OR, which will climb
up a two story cement wall without supports. I thought of creeping fig,
which would be perfect, but she's told it won't make it in their climate.
And I know that ivies would work. But are there others that don't need
support?
