The last one I had was in San Diego a gazillion years
ago.

I watered it only in summer (actually late spring into
early fall) about twice a month.  It tried to go
deciduous in winter and I had to keep it under cover
when the rains were going to be heavy.

I know it will burn below 28°F (-2°C).

The natural laws of Santa Maria prohibit me from
trying this little beauty again.
