Charles:
Is it possibly the plant most people call "Creeping
Charlie" -- or in the olden days, "Swedish Ivy" --
which used to be Plectranthus australis or P.
nummularius and is now Plectranthus verticillatus?
Another common house plant of years gone by that went
by the nom-de-homey of "Charlie" long before
Plectranthus, however, is Pilea nummularifolia.
And then there's the other less well known "creeping
charlies":
Centella asiatica (and oddball that's also called
spadeleaf)
Glechoma hederacea (a.k.a. Ground ivy, Gill-over-the
ground)
Hydrocotyle umbellata (the funny little navelwort or
pennywort)
Lysimachia nummularifolia (also known as Creeping
Jenny and moneywort) AND even
Sutera cordata (usually sold in nurseries as Bacopa)
