Re:The perfect (but mythical) plant label

I have had a problem with labels, as has everyone else. After thirty years I have come to one conclusion. The only ink that I have used that is truly permanent is India Ink, used by engineers and architects. It is carbon based and therefor cannot bleach in the sun! The other problem is the label. All plastic materials will degrade in time, become brittle and break. Copper is permanent but some plants are sensitive to copper. Aluminum should work. SO! perhaps India Ink on aluminum is the only real permanent answer! But what do I know? --Chas--
