hedge clarification

I just assumed in my first response that this hedge was in the backs of your houses, so the results wouldn't be visible to the neighbor.  If the offending plant is in your shared front lot line, more diplomatic procedures would, of course, need to be pursued.  At least, as others have said, you should not go INTO their property line.  You definitely have the right to prune on your side.  I believe with fruit trees, vines, etc, the fruit on your side of the property is rightfully yours also!
