Please Medit folks, help to settle a debate about the best cultural conditions for Heuchera 'Amber Waves'.
I was having a water/do-not-water showdown with a friend yesterday about this plant {:> She swears that this variety is extremely sensitive to overwatering, but not that sensitive to full sun. She was showing me a lot of leaves on a container speciman that, to me, looked like just too much sun. She was adament that the brownish "meltdown" (for lack of a better word) was caused by overwatering. My experience with this plant is that it prefers quite a bit of shade (expecially afternoon shade) and regular water. Her experience is that it prefers to stay very much on the dry side. What's your opinion?
btw, we're in WA state, Pacific Northwest coastal climate, Zone 8 (but a definite Zone 7 last winter).
Many thanks in advance, C. Carter
