Has anyone mentioned Hyptis emoryi or Salvia discolor? These make good container plants for me, even in subtropical North Carolina. Then there are the other Salvia officinalis related sages like S. candelabrum and S. recognita.

Silvery and blue plants must be a rare delight in your climate, almost all these beautiful plants seem to belong to the cooler and especially drier parts of the world. Not surprisingly I suppose, as the silver is usually due to a a hairy covering designed to drought-proof them for hot dry summers.
