Just thought I'd share some very spectacular blooming Aloes in bloom now. This species is one that blooms in late spring to early summer right on cue, and usually lasts for about 6 to 8 weeks in bloom. I've got it combined here with some Marmalade Bush, Streptosolen jamesonii on a steep slope in a side yard of a home in the Berkeley Hills near the Claremont Hotel. The A. camperi follows blooming after the Aloe capitata v. quartzicola behind them have finished up blooming, usually in late March. There is also a Leucospermum reflexum in bloom now just a bit further up this same slope. All of these have proven to do well with limited summer water and little care, and give a great shot of color when seen from the street below.
