My wife found the following in yesterday's San Francisco Chroniwockle
which seems relevant to mediterranean plants and some of our previous
discussion of salvias.
"Salvia authority Betsy Clebsch will speak about salvias and sign copies
of her new book on Sunday at the U. C. Botanical Garden in Berkeley. The
program kicks off the "Summer of Salvias" at the Garden Shop, which will
offer a changing selection of the plants this summer.
"Copies of her new book, "A Book of Salvias: Sages for every Garden"
(Timber Press, 1997, $29.95), will be on sale at the event, which also
features tours of the U. C. Botanical Garden and a wine and cheese
reception.
"The salvia program with Betsy Clebsch will take place Sunday from 2 to
4 p.m. in the Mirov Room at the U. C. Botanical Garden at 200 Centennial
Drive (about one mile up the hill from Memorial Stadium), Berkeley.
Admission is $8 for members and $10 for non-members. For more
information, call (510) 643-2755."
