Fishing line seems appropriate -- strong and nearly invisible. Plus when
I describe this staghorn, it begins to sound like a fish story, even to
me.

But I'm not quite sure how to "reel it in." Right now it's on its back,
on a bench under the lath pergola. If I turn it over on the bench (a mean
feat in itself) to work on it, its own weight will crush, smash or even
break off the fronds in front.

Maybe I could attach it to a sturdy piece of lath with wire and then
fishing line, sliding each end off the bench as I work on it. It's worth
a try, anyway.

Thanks, Jane, for your ideas.
