Cheryl,
I'm looking at your Greek thyme at
http://www.best.com/~renshaw/garden/thymegreek.html
and am certain that it is Satureja thymbra, actually a species of
Savory. I know it well from the Greek island of Crete, where it is a
common constituant of lowland garigue or "phrygana" vegetation, i.e. a
low, open scrub of dwarf shrubs, annuals, and bulbs. It flowers (in Crete)
from April through June, and has a sharp, spicy aroma.
Nick.
