Sabina's mention of the Spanish version of Bramwell's FLORA OF THE
CANARY ISLAND reminds me to ask: I was once told there was an English
version but it was (then) out of print. Was the information correct?
Who published it? Might it (if I'm lucky) be back in print?
And that's leads to another book question. I was shown by a visiting
friend recently back from at trip to Oz and NZ a GUIDE TO THE FLOWERS
AND PLANTS OF TASMANIA. If it had an author I don't remember the name
or names but it was published by Reed Books and the Launceston Field
Naturalists Club. I've tried looking for this one via the Web but no
luck. Do any of our members down there have any more info about it -
including how I might get hold of a copy?
From a seriously unstable Solway Coast in Cumbria - five minutes warm
sun, five minutes thunder and storm, five minutes cold semi-gale, five
minutes warm sun.... Trying to garden on a day like this, I feel like
one of those figures on an old fashioned barometer, who scuttled in
and out according to the weather...
