E. cordata

A brief medical report. I asked a few months ago about the likely fate
of a four-foot infant E. cordata flattened by a bigger neighbour in
our Boxing Day gale. Would it regenerate from the stump? Consensus
seemed to be a (slightly doubtful) It might. Well, I can report that
it has. I won't say it looks full of beans and rude health but it's
alive and putting out new leaves. Say what you like about gum-trees,
they certainly know (all too well?) how to survive.
