Just a line to say thanks to Michael, Gary and Loren for the info. on
I. decora aka nepalensis (which was indeed the name it was coyly
hiding under in my own books). It doesn't sound as though I'm likely
to be able to persuade it to survive our wet winters but I've given it
my best shot.

And thanks to Dave for the theory re my flattened Fatsia. Luckily I
have a livery-stable-owning friend so I shall put in a request for a
trailer-load of her charges' best well-rotted product - and see how
the brute responds to substantial dollops of same.
