Phormium tenax 'Variegata' and 'Williamsii'

Just to shift this phormium discussion slightly:

I know someone who's desperate to lay hands on a specimen of P. t.
'Williamsii,' which doesn't seem to be (commercially, certainly; at
all, possibly) available in the U.K. The UK expert on Australasian
plants I consulted said, Why is he bothering with it? There's no
significant difference/improvement on the ordinary P.t. 'Variegata'.
Anyone care to comment?

Hill-walking weather here in Cumbria again - at last! I.e., sunny but
cold - dogs and self saw sun come up over Skiddaw this morning - we're
all sadly unaccustomed to such exercise after months of grey wet -
they're snoring at my feet as I type and I suspect there'll be a third
snorer joining the party before long...

Happy Spring, everyone -

Tim
