Symphorocarpus as foundation shrubs?

Anyone forsee problems with using them in this way? I'm guessing that
with a barrier extending about 8 inches underground, and 4 feet away from
the main plants, I can contain the suckering... what do you all think?
They are such beautiful plants! I would be doing this in front of a rental
house I own, where I think their toughness would be an asset :-).
