Hi, Carol!

The California Rare Fruit Growers' magazine has carried
several articles on growing Lychee in the last couple of
years.  I can't find the articles right now, but I remember
that a number of people reported success in southern
California.  That means humidity is not the issue.  I don't
recall seeing any reports of success in the Bay Area, but
that doesn't mean it's impossible.

I think some of the growers reported that they partially
girdle branches (using a twisted wire) to increase fruit
production.  Sounded kind of complicated.
