Deborah:
In my experience, every year a different Salvia (sometimes several) is going
to bloom at a really odd time. Many have moderately shifted periods that
can be attributed to weather. But there are the ones that are WAY off that
I can't explain.
The systematic study of this behavior might be interesting. I get the
feeling at times that Salvias are indicators of subtle effects in nature. I
wish I could read these messages!
