Re: Dragon Fruit (Hylocereus undatus)


I just got back from a week in Naxos (Cyclades, Greece) and saw H. undatus 
growing there with a huge fruit on it.  Not lots of humidity there in the 
summer so it seems pretty tolerant.  Being able to grow things like that 
makes me want to move to warmer climes...Seattle is great for some things 
but anything other than our once-in-5-years freak warm winters would turn 
that one to mush...

I didn't read all the other posts, but just be aware that the flowers, 
though spectacular and huge, smell sort of like dirty socks.
The bats like it that way.  :)
