Dear David
Here in South of France Pinus halepensis is
found everywhere, in the wild as in gardens. We see usually older specimens in
parks and large gardens than in the wild, because our garrigue burns regularly.
Old specimens in parks are at least 100 years old, maybe more. Quite dramatic
trees with contorted branches because of our Mistral wind blowing strong and
often.
