Dear Medit Plant Listers:
Because you've seen recent postings from Joan, I want to tell you a
little about her. She has combined the two loves of her life, plants and
library science in order to develop the best plant science library in
California! Instead of being a musty old place where you can never find
a soul, it is a lively, inviting and interesting hangout for dirt
gardeners and erudite plantsmen alike.
I've come in there with the most obtuse questions, and the most stupid.
In spite of her busy schedule, Joan is always ready to help. This help
comes not only from the "stacks", but also from her great selections of
periodicals, and what she finds on the internet. You've only just seen
the "tip of the iceburg" of plant information with her postings to this
group!
So, next time, or if ever, you're coming to the Arboretum of Los Angeles
County, do stop in to one of it's most fascinating spots; The Plant
Science Library. Joan always has time for you!
