Title: Re: Spring has sprung!
Report from San Diego County:
Spring has finally sprung. How do I know? Evidence is everywhere:
- I went to open my bedroom skylight this morning and discovered that we had left it open all night -- something that is impossible to do in winter.
- Weeds cover my yard
- Poppies are in bloom
- Frost-burned succulents have new growth on them
- Salvias are reviving
- I pulled the cover crop out of my raised veggie beds
- A magnet pulls me into the garden each morning before I can sit down at the computer to work
- Garden shows and tours are everywhere!
- The money in my checking account is crying "spend me, spend me!"
- The rabbit is shedding (and I am sneezing)
- The acacias are in bloom (and I am sneezing)
- Pine pollen is falling (and I am sneezing)
- Oak pollen is shedding (and I am sneezing)
- My native plants are going to town (they don't make me sneeze)
- Ceanothus is in full bloom and the bees are going to town! I don't know why people say there has been a decline in bee populations -- my yard is literally humming!
I'll think of a few more clues later on. This will do for now!
Happy spring (to the northern hemisphere)
Nan
