To add to the booklist that Tim has started, I am reading a
new candidate for our shelves: The Looking-Glass Garden by Peter Thompson
(Timber Press). The subtitle is Plants and Gardens of the Southern Hemisphere.
$39.95 (US)Thompson was for many years the head of the physiology department at
Kew and the author of three other books. He has traveled extensively in the
Southern Hemisphere. So far I have noticed one focus is discussion of
drought-tolerant plants.Excellent photographs. More on this one in a week or
