Jan,
According to the New RHS Dictionary, there is a Cupressus himalaica var.
darjeelingensis, origin unknown, probably S. Assam, not Kashmir, although
the common name given is Kashmir cypress. Darjeeling (now Darjiling) is
pretty far removed from Kashmir.

What is a Darjeeling cypress? I tried to look it up but can find no
reference to it under that name. Where is it from and why is it special?
I'd love to have a look at it at Quail Botanic Garden when we go next
month.
