I have had some success,

Mostly from mines though, for my practice would not be much more than sufficient to paymy living expenses, which are necessarily, owing to thbe prices of everything, pretty high. When business is not too pressing I read history & law & roam over the fields of English standard & classic literature, of which I am very fond, just the samed as ever. But then I haven't distinguished myself yet, and consequently am not happy but feel as Caesar did when asked why he wept; like answering with him all inquiries as to the cause "I weep because so many of the great names of history achieved greatness at 25 years but I am thirty & have done nothing yet" - not the language(?) - Neither am I married, nor for that matter like to be soon. Do you remenber Benedict's discourse with himself on resolving to wed Beatrice: "When I said that I would die a batchelor, I did not think that I should live to be married".
