I have an undulatum growing under
a pine tree in my back yard. It gets not supplemental winter water of
course, gets perhaps a weekly summer watering, and is planted in the worst
possible stone/clay combination of pseudo-soil you ever want to see. It
was slow to take off, but three years later is quite tall, bushy and
thriving. It gets extremely hot up here at about 200 ft. above sea level,
so if your area is cooler, it could undoubtedly do with much less water in
summer.
