Thank you so very much for all the information so graciously shared!! it is much appreciated.  My gardening pals from California will also be thankful. One gave up gardening this year ..we will get her back on track.
 
Richard,  your web site is wonderful.  Thank you.   It is full of information on herb links--perfect because I enjoy growing herbs.  Actually, herbs do very well in my ( as a nursery vendor puts it) hostile environment.
