I'm afraid that at the time I paid very little attention, just did as I'd seen my stepfather do with geraniums: cut off a piece, stick it in the ground and stomp the dirt down. Worked just fine.  But seeds? They did spread by contact feathering - anyplace that touched dirt sprouted roots.
