Oncocyclus irises

On a slightly different subject (to the other posting): a week ago I went to
a Mediterranean plants lecture weekend in Birmingham (U.K.) Various
speakers were talking on Spain, North Africa, Lebanon, Syria, Turkey,
Cyprus, Crete, Greece and other Balkan countries. It was amazing to see so
many wonderful photographs (slides) of such a huge variety of plants native
to the Mediterranean basin. One of my favourites had to be the Oncocyclus
irises of the Lebanon and S. Turkey (there are other species further east,
away from the Med. region). Does anyone grow these? They are not easy plants...

Nick.
