As I read the first enquiry I immediately thought of the circular
area outside the education bldg on the Berkeley campus, the one that Sean
also referred to. I'll be on campus tomorrow at a nearby bldg so I'll
check them out post-frost. They've been there for at least 15 years and,
apparently survived the '76 and '90 freezes so I'd bet they're OK. There
is also a row of them alongside the south-facing wall of a movie theater in
Emeryville, a small town south of Berkeley. I'll check them out, too, if I
can. I'm wracking my brain, trying to remember where I recently saw a
Chorizia........aha, the Berkeley Botanical Garden. Must get up there,
too. I need to study for a plant taxonomy test(Thurday night) so I might
be able to wander up the hill for that one, too. Report(s) to follow.
