Moira recently posted a neat remedy for trapping slugs using plastic soda
or water bottles. While she described its construction perfectly, I
couldn't visualize it because that's just hard for me to do.
I have just seen a similar description--with a picture--in my current copy
of Garden Gate. Now I think I can try it with some success. GG posts
excerpts from their current issue on the Web, including their Tips and
Techniques, which is where I found the "slug-o-matic" picture. The address

I've enjoyed this publication. While its from the U.S. midwest and often
oriented to that climate, they do make some effort to accommodate the U.S.
west coast. The tips from readers are often extremely helpful--and often
require little or no money to implement. They accept no advertising, so
it's a rather small publication (about 45 pages). However, because they
have no advertisers, I often feel the information is less driven by
commercial concerns than might otherwise be the case...
