My SA bulbs just grow in the open garden and do get odd rainshowers
throughout summer. but irrespective of whether this water is available
or not the majority do die down fairly soon after flowering. A few weeks
at most. You should see the leaves begin to lose their green colour and
to dry up and this would no doubt be the signal to stop watering and let
them finish their ripening.
