RE: Slightly off topic - Mere vegetables


Okay, questions again:  do we HAVE nettles in California? Native or
introduced? (I'm sure I've met something that qualified as a nettle when
pulling "weeds"...)

Ortica (nettles) are used in Italian cooking, and risotto all'ortica is 
heavenly. Wear gloves when you pick them; they will lose their sting in the
cooking.
