Kerria japonica, double form, is growing and growing and growing in our
country garden in Tasmania, Australia [more a cool temperate garden than
Medit]. It was one of the very few plants that were already there when
we bought the property.
It certainly has no pest that I have seen, only fault is to run quite a
long distance and grow new roots on each cane, up and through and over
its poor suffering neighbors. It is planted in a warm position and
will certainly brighten up the late winter scene when sunshine shines
through it.
A personal remark - I find the yellow too dark a shade to make this one
of my favorite plants., I would and do prefer Jasminum mesyni, the
primrose Jasmine which flowers at that late Winter period
