Kerria japonica, double form, is growing and growing and growing in our
country garden in Tasmania, Australia [more a cool temperate garden than
Medit]. It was one of the very few plants that were already there when
we bought the property.
It certainly has no pest that I have seen, only fault is to run quite a
long distance and grow new roots on each cane, up and through and over
its poor suffering neighbors. It is planted in a warm position and
will certainly brighten up the late winter scene when sunshine shines
through it.
A personal remark - I find the yellow too dark a shade to make this one
of my favorite plants., I would and do prefer Jasminum mesyni, the
primrose Jasmine which flowers at that late Winter period

How is it that such an bad tempered plant has become so important to not
only the gardens of the world but the English language?.
