Hi Mark
I have (with some surprise) had a serissa growing in a pot on our
deck for over 12 months and it is flowering now (autumn). I don't
offhand remember what it is called, but it has pink flowers, and
lightly variegated leaves. I checked the RHS encyclopaedia when I
received it as a gift last year and assumed it was doomed to succumb
to frost, even on the deck which faces east and is at 1st storey
level (we can get frost down to -10C). I normally place it under the
eaves to give it further protection but haven't got around to moving
it yet, and we've had several light frosts already and it doesn't
seem fazed at all so far.
Because I would like to use the pot for another plant, I'm
considering planting it in a bed against the house, again facing east
because I think it likes some summer protection from hot sun, to
replace a daphne which I want to move.
