I grow basil in two planters in my gh, and normally have plenty of basil before they start selling basil at the Farmer's Market. Last spring, we got a mostly boy kitten; that spring and this spring he's been ruining my basil planters by playing in them.
Anything I can do to stop this and let my basil grow?
Make a small cage of chicken wire and place this (open side down) over the planters.
More sightly, but may or may not be effective would be to place small snippets of gorse, or something similarly spiny (even a large number of toothpicks, "planted" sharp end up), all over the soil of the planter.
