I have grown F magellicana, magellicana alba and
magellicana tricolor here in the Languedoc. They did Ok (but I have good
soil and am near a river) but never achieved anything like the growth I had when
I grew them in Gloucestershire - lack of humidity in the air I thought - and
eventually I dug them up and replaced them with something more accustomed to dry
climates.
