Re: Hardy fushcias in Mediterranean climate

I have grown F magellicana, magellicana alba and magellicana tricolor here in the Languedoc.  They did Ok (but I have good soil and am near a river) but never achieved anything like the growth I had when I grew them in Gloucestershire - lack of humidity in the air I thought - and eventually I dug them up and replaced them with something more accustomed to dry climates.

A friend is wanting to bring some 'hardy' potted fuschias from Scotland to the Costa Blanca. She is worried that they won't survive here. Does anyone know about the chance of their success of acclimatisation on a Spanish patio.?
