Dear All,
Shade, pH, encroaching tree roots, and pine needles falling from above are the chief concerns with pines. Many plants resent pine needles getting stuck in their foliage.
Sollya heterophylla or Australian Blue Bell Creeper seems to work well in that condition here in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Dear List,
what are some of the issues concerning planting under Pines? shade, pH, ...others? What qualities do the plants in Joe's suggested list have that make them good candidates?
