Our S.s. "Bees Bliss" grew from a foot wide plant to a 15 foot wide plant in
one year, bloomed like mad, and then became kind of shabby. We cut it back
to a six foot wide spread and it's grown maybe another four feet and is
currently blooming like mad again. Very happy plant.

One of the species in my native Ca. research project is a Salvia
sonomensis. After 1 season in the ground, there were some stems that
had stretched by that method to 89"!!. Anyone need a good floriferous
ground cover?

Just out pruning and stopped to pull a salvia lanceolata out of the
neighboring dwarf mandarin trees. After just a few years, this
"touch and root" salvia has reached about 9' in diameter. Will it
ever stop?
