Dear Medits, the query to Nick about the flora of china project alerted
me to the fact that most likely a few Medit people may not be aware of
some of the incredible resources on the web such as the Tropicos
database or the USDA Plant database, so here are a few URL's to check
out.
California Flora Database

Australia: Species occurrence data, maps and models

USA Plants National Database Query Form

Search the Flora Europaea

Internet Directory for Botany: Checklists and Floras, Taxonomical

W3TROPICOS

This is just a very small selection of the many databases and sites I
use as part of my work
If anyone wants the full selection, which also includes a few cycling
sites :-) I can mail you the bookmark.html file and you can just import
it into your existing bookmark file. Saves heaps of time. It took me
several years to compile all my bookmarks them suddenly a few months ago
I lost the whole operating system and my bookmarks file!!!
It took me three whole days of searching to get them all back together,
I keep a backup now!
Cheers,
Rod Randall
