Possible, but I would have thought it much more likely that it is named after 
St. Augustine, Trinidad, which is where Biology department of U.W.E. 
(University of the West Indies) is. I presume it's the same saint though!

On a related point, the amount of officialdom you have in the US on really 
quite minor things never ceases to amaze me. Here in Britain it is almost 
unheard of to have environmental health officers telling people to tidy up a 
garden, unless you start a sewage works in it or something.....
